*** Note for Nala’atsi students, parents, & caretakers: as you are likely aware, in-class school has been suspended indefinitely for all schools in BC due to the Coronavirus. Nala’atsi staff will be working to support every student as best we can while in-class school is suspended.  We will be sharing information, including an updated weekly schedule, soon. For now, please be patient, try not to stress too much about all the uncertainty we are facing, and stay safe & healthy! Here is the latest community resources update, for those interested: CVCEH – COVID-19 Updates April 3 2020

Nala’atsi is a school based in Courtenay, British Columbia for students with Indigenous ancestry in grades 10 to 12. It is a 10 month program that provides individualized support for students whose needs have not been met in a mainstream classroom setting. The Nala’atsi program aims to give students a sense of community and belonging, a safe and compassionate learning environment, as well as access to a variety of exciting cultural activities within the community and beyond.

Are you interested in attending Nala’atsi? Currently we are at capacity, but we have a wait list and are always happy to connect with prospective students. Please pick up an admissions package at the Indigenous Education Center (665 – 16th St, Courtenay BC) Monday-Friday between 9am and 3pm OR print & fill out the Nala’atsi Application Package and drop it off with Sue Cambrey at the Indigenous Education Center. If you have any questions you can write Rory at: rory.mcclure@sd71.bc.ca
